How Do You Prepare Fresh Pumpkin Seeds For Parrots?

0

Parrots love to eat seeds. You can buy some at the pet store, but they usually come in a mix. There is no reason you can’t prepare some fresh pumpkin seeds for your parrot at home. Fresh pumpkin seeds are much more healthful for your parrot, and they are very easy to make. Buy a few pumpkins and cut out the top of the pumpkin so that you can get at the seeds. Scoop out all of the seeds and place them in a large bowl. Throw the seeds in a strainer and run them under the water. This will help get the pumpkin guts off of the seeds. Lay the seeds in between two paper towels to dry them. Place the seeds on a baking sheet and cook them for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Remove the seeds from the oven and place them in a container with a lid. Feed your parrot a small bunch of seeds at a time, keeping the remaining seeds fresh in the container.
