How Do You Prepare For Employee Performance Reviews?
Financial reports and cash-flow sheets detail the financial well being of your company. Beneath those numbers, however, are living and breathing human beings that are helping (or hurting) your business efforts. Reviewing your employees periodically is critical to keeping motivation levels high among them and weeding out the “bad eggs.” Careful review and analysis of each employee’s work ethic, performance and overall attitude are essential steps in preparing to give the actual review. Contact your human resources manager or division, and retrieve the personnel file for the employee you intend to review. Gather any notes you made about your interviews or interactions with the employee. Find past performance reviews, if they exist. Review the materials and write up a review. Look at how the employee has measured up against standards you and the management set for your business. Evaluate how well the employee does his job, whether he has met performance goals and what needs improvement. D
