How Do You Prepare For Boarding School?
Boarding school is a new and exciting experience, but will probably cause you some anxiousness before you get there. However, here are some tips that will make you feel more prepared and confident about your first week there! • Call your roommate. Your school will provide you with the contact information, and though you may feel nervous about the call, it’ll make the first day less awkward. Getting to know at least one person in a new place is a good thing! List topics beforehand (their sports and hometown, what they’re bringing to the room, etc). • Read the handbook about school rules and dress code. Living at school makes you their liability, so they act like your parents. Know all rules and consequences; being late to sign-in or missing study hall could mean detention, even though it’s when you would normally be done with class.
