If you have recently gotten a waitress job, there are ways you can prepare for your new position. A waitress spends a lot of time on her feet, caring for hungry diners and serving food. Before you put on a waitress apron and grab an order pad, take a little time to get yourself ready for your new job. Familiarize yourself with your restaurant’s brand so you will be a useful member of the service team. Give yourself a pedicure. Waitresses depend on their feet to work, so you should start your job with your feet in mind. Clip your toenails and treat bunions. Then scrub your feet and moisturize them. Give yourself a manicure. Remove old nail polish, clean nails and trim them. If you want to use a polish, apply a clear one. Some health departments and restaurants prefer nail polish to be clear, if it is allowed at all.
