How Do You Prepare For A Skywarn Basic Class?
• Look for a Skywarn Basic Class on your local National Weather Service web page. • Classes are free and typically are about two hours long. To find out when a SKYWARN™ class will be conducted in local your area, contact your local Warning Coordination Meteorologist at: http://www.stormready.noaa.gov/contact.htm • Look for your local emergency management office, also, as a source of information about Skywarn classes. • Ask about the date and time of the classes. • Call them to ask the qualifications of taking such a course • Find out what you will need to know prior to taking the class.
