How Do You Prepare For A Reading Quiz?
As a middle or high school student, you are likely required to take reading quizzes on any class-wide text you are reading for English. These quizzes are usually a way for your teacher to hold you accountable for your reading, and they may contribute significantly to your grade. Preparing for them could significantly improve your grade, or at least help you participate in class-wide discussions. Look at an old quiz or your syllabus in order to determine your teacher’s expectations. Different teachers create reading quizzes differently; some want you to be able to recall certain facts (the purpose of these quizzes is almost always to make sure you read the thing), where others will ask for your analysis. Furthermore, some teachers expect you to be able to identify quotations from the text. Knowing the structure and content of your quiz will make it far easier to prepare for it. Read smartly.
