Preparing for a math test is a bit different than preparing for tests in other disciplines. On a math test, you not only have to know and understand concepts, you have to demonstrate that understanding by working problems accurately within a given time frame. To further demonstrate your understanding, you may also be required to provide written explanations to support you calculations. Step 1 Avoid waiting until the last minute. The absolute best preparation for a math test is to keep up with daily assignments and homework as they are presented. If there is something you don’t understand, get help immediately. Math concepts build on one another, so if you don’t understand something in one lesson it may keep you from being able to do future lessons.
