How Do You Prepare For A Cold Reading Audition?
You have an audition for a film/television role. Maybe you have a “callback” audition for a theater role. Either way, monologues will not be required. Instead, the producers/directors with provide you with a scene, called sides and ask you to read your character’s part. It will require a different set of skills than the monologue audition. Step 1 Read the play. Before you ever read the scene that was given to you, read the play completely. This provides you with a much better idea of your character. Step 2 Memorize if possible.
