The sweet taste and fragrance of fresh strawberries can be preserved by preparing and freezing strawberries correctly. There are five different ways to freeze the berries, and all of them will keep the berries safe to eat for up to a year. Regardless of which method is used, the berries must be washed in ice water first with the stems on. Take the stem and any leaves off after the berries are washed.
