A cheese board makes for a great appetizer when entertaining; it can be as quick and easy as you want to make it. A cheese platter is an equally eloquent way to make a good impression without a lot of work. Who wouldn’t be impressed with a slice of good cheese paired with a excellent wine? As a chef, I find that more clients want nothing more than to start or end their meal, than with a good selection of cheeses, bread, wine, and fruit. Step 1 Present a selection of cheeses that provide contrasts in texture, appearance, and flavors. You will find that cheese are classified as cream, firm, semisoft, or hard; as covered in ash, herbs, or leaves; and finally as pungent, salty, mild or sweet. Then of course, you also have hot or spicy cheeses – such as Monterey Jack with JalapeƱos. Step 2 Include four to seven cheese selections. For example, a cheese board made up of creamy Cheddar, Gorgonzola, Herbed Goat Cheese, and Brie. Step 3 Allow cheeses to come to room temperature before serving. S
