How Do You Pre-Wire A House For Satellite?

0

“Hi my name is Bill Barney. I’m with Community Dish in Pahrump, Nevada. I’m an SBCA licensed installer, that’s Satellite Broadcast Communications Association and I’d like to help you with your satellite installation. Pre-wiring a house for satellite installation is ideally done during the construction phase of the home. It’s usually done by a licensed contractor or an electrician that pre-pulls the wall through the 2 X 4 or stud framing of the home itself. RG6 cable at 60% braid is required. The cable can be solid copper or copper clad but it has to meet certain Dish Network specifications and approval. We definitely recommend that you use a qualified electrician to do your pre-wire but if you’re a home builder or you want to build the home yourself the RG6 60% cable must be swept to 3,000 hertz. It must be pulled from the satellite dish to the receiver without any splits or as few interruptions as possible. The wire must be grounded.
