How Do You Pray With Rosary Beads?
Rosary beads are a necklace-like object that is used as a focus for meditation and prayer of the rosary. When rosary beads are used during prayer this process is called “Praying the Rosary.” A set of rosary beads is made up of five decades, the representation being the large beads after the smaller beads on a rosary chain. The decades represent the Mysteries that are to be meditated upon. There are four sets of five Mysteries each. A different Mystery should be reflected on each day of the week. On Monday and Saturday, the Joyful Mysteries should be said. The Luminous Mysteries should be said on Thursday while the Sorrowful Mysteries should be reflected upon on Tuesday and Friday. The Glorious Mysteries are to be reflected and spoken on Wednesday and Sunday unless the Sunday is during the Christmas season. Hold the rosary beads in the palm of the hands while clasped in prayer. The rosary beads should dangle down the back of the hands while the palm is wrapped around the crucifix. Free
