By practicing OPSEC (also known as Operational Security), you can keep your military family member and those with him or her safe. The OPSEC guidelines are simple and not only protect our military members but their families as well. As the old saying goes “Loose Lips Sink Ships”. It is important to always safeguard information about our troops. Never talk about military movements. This includes deployments, redeployments, R&R, missions and training exercises.
