How Do You Practice Hip-Hop Dance Steps?
Hip-hop dance steps, like any dancing genre, require the dancer to develop a degree of skill and experience to become proficient. Although much of hip-hop dancing is freestyle, the movements and setups necessitate a lot of practice. Hip-hop dancing, like hip-hop music, requires a great sense of rhythm. Start off slowly with a few warm-up moves before launching into a demanding hip-hop dance routine. Move the upper body to the right with the right foot sliding along in a fluid movement. Take a second step to the right and then let the body follow. Move the upper body to the left and follow the movement with a step from the left foot. Slide out to the left and repeat the steps before adding a small signature move. Vary the movements by turning each into a double step and slide. Practice the routine with a variety of hip-hop tunes. Each song could elicit a different set of freestyle moves.
