Etrian Odyssey 2 is an “old school” role-playing game that expects you to spend a lot of time simply fighting random battles to power up your characters. It helps to know how to maximize your time when adventuring so that you don’t waste time trying to become stronger. You can power-level your characters at certain points, which can greatly assist you later in the game when battles become increasingly more difficult. Progress through the game until your characters are all at least level 20. This will give you the greatest chance of survival for long periods in the tree without having to return to town to heal.
