How Do You Pour A Concrete Pad?
Concrete can upgrade the usability of areas of ground around your house. Pouring a concrete pad for a back porch or the base of a utility shed is a fairly simple procedure provided you have the proper equipment and take the necessary steps to do it right. Start by digging out the area where you are going to pour your concrete. Get it down to level dirt and then cover the area with three to four inches of #5 gravel. This will give the concrete something porous to adhere to. You can also compact the soil by putting a sprinkler on it for an hour or so. Build your frame where you want to pour your concrete. You can use 2-by-4s to build whatever size square you want the pad to be. Don’t nail them together; place them on the ground and use wood shims to stake the 2-by-4s in place.
