How Do You Ponte In Brazilian Capoeira Martial Arts?

And in capoeira, you’ll see a lot of movements that require–a lot of the acrobatic movements require some good back flexibility and they require that you’re able to go in and out of a bridge. When you start training the bridge, a lot of times I think the easiest way to train at it first is you want to go ahead and just lay flat on your back. Your feet are flat on the floor. Your knees are pointed towards the ceiling. You’re going to take your hands and you’re going to put them right next to your ears with your fingers pointed down towards your feet and your wrists pointed forwards to where you will be looking at. And from there, you’re just going to push up. With your hands and your feet, you’re going to push your bellybutton or your hips as high as they can go and hold that position. Okay?
