How Do You Play Wallball (Norcal Rules)?
• Know the rules: • The ball must bounce once on the way in to the wall and no more than once on the way out. • If ball is caught, player must immediately turn around (back towards wall) and either a. Hurl (throw ball overhead) or b. dump (throw between legs). The one bounce rule still applies here • If a player hits the ball into the wall before bouncing on the ground, he/she is out. (This is referred to as a “shotgun”) • Learn the crack rule. If at any time a player hits the ball into the crack where the wall and ground meet, that player is out. • Learn the decent rule. The serving player must start point with a hit that is gettable: (if receiving player is unable to get to it, or decides it is unreasonably served he/she may call ‘Decent’). • Play Watermelon. A Watermelon is achieved by ducking under the ball on either the fly(pre bounce from wall) or after the allotted one bounce. If player can get under the ball it is considered their hit.
