It can take some time to become an expert at playing tone and muff sound combinations on a conga drum, but learning the basics is very easy. Once you have it down you will be that much closer to being a great “conguero” (one who plays the conga). Play a tone sound on the conga drum. Do this by striking the drum with the fingers of your hand. Allow the fingers to naturally come back up a bit. Do not press them into the drum, as this will create a muffled sound. Play a muff sound on the conga drum. Do this by pressing into the drum as you strike the fingers of your hand against the conga drum, producing a muffled sound. Play a tone sound
