Most board games involve all the players playing against each other. But the Lord of the Rings cooperative board game is a little different. Rather than fighting against your fellow players, you are all hobbits on a quest to protect the ring, and your fate is the same. If one of you manages to win, you all win. And if one of you does not manage to win, then alas, you will all have lost. Sort out all Gandalf cards and place-specific feature cards, and place them face up on the edge of the board. Start the white pawn on the main board’s first space, and place the location board connecting to the main board. Place white pawns on the first space of each track of the location board.
