How Do You Play The Gb (G Flat) Major Scale On Piano?
“So now we are going to give you a visual look of the scale first and I will tell you the name of the actual notes. But again that is not really important right now we are focusing in reading a pattern. So what is important is you get this pattern down and we number it from 1-7. We start right here on G flat major it starts on G flat. The bottom note of the group of 3 we have G flat, A flat, B flat. B, D, E flat, F, G flat but again we number it 1-7 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and it keeps going up. So now we have a melody let’s say 3,3,3,3,3,3,5,1,2,3,2,3,4, or whatever the melody can be. We can learn it in this and we have it down and we see how the pattern looks on paper but what is great you can play that on any key. 3,3,3,3,3,5,2,3 or I can do it on A 3,3,3,3,3,5,1,3. So you really want to get a tone to reading these different patterns and we would go over more of that in just a minute. But right now just get that G flat major scale under your fingers.
