How Do You Play The Bowling Sentence Building Game?
After you play the bowling word building game with the kids, they will soon be ready for the bowling sentence building game! The kids absolutely love this game! It teaches them to read simple words, but more importantly teaches them about sentence building. This is a great game to play as a group as opposed to individually. It allows the kids who cannot read or build sentences to watch the process being done by other children. For this reason it works best in a class that does not ability group. Here is how to play. Make some bowling pins out of tag board with words on them. Start some of the words with capital letters so as to signify the first word of a sentence. Spread the words out on a table for the kids. Have the kids build sentences out of the words. Have either the kids or an adult write the sentences up on a white board. Keep score for each group of kids (not individual scores) and total them up and congratulate (not reward) the group with the most sentences.
