How Do You Play N64 Games On The Computer?
Nostalgic memories of video gaming inevitably conjure up images of ROM (Read-Only Memory) cartridges. These older games have since gone the way of videocassettes and floppy diskettes, yet they have not died out completely. Many older games have been revived through PC emulation. As modern processors and graphics cards increase in power, so to does the emulation software’s ability to play newer and newer games. The graphics-card demands of old Nintendo 64 games are well within the abilities of modern computers. Open a web browser and download the emulation software. Project64 is the emulator used in this example. Once the download has completed, install the software onto your hard drive. Download a Nintendo 64 ROM file and save it in the same location that Project64 is installed. Run Project64. Click on “File”, and select “Open ROM”. Navigate to the Nintendo 64 ROM that you had downloaded and double click on it. It will load up and play within the Project64 window.
