How Do You Play MP4 Video Files?
MP4 video files are compatible with Windows and Apple operating systems. Not all popular, well-known media software programs have the ability to play MP4 video files. Some programs will only play the audio portion of the MP4 file. The easiest way to avoid problems with MP4 video files on your computer is to download a program that is compatible with them. That program will then open the video as it would any other compatible file. Download and install VLC Media Player, QuickTime or iTunes. Open the program. Click “File” at the top of the program. A drop-down menu will appear. Select “Open” or “Open File.” A window will open. Proceed to Step 5, unless you are using VLC Media Player. VLC users must go to Step 4. Click the “Browse” tab inside the open window. The “Browse” window will open. Search through all of the files and folders in the window. Click the MP4 video you want to play and click “Open.” The MP4 will start playing.
