The easiest way to play a chord is to find the positioning that requires the least amount of fingers and bars to be used. Fewer fingers will make it faster to learn. If there are fewer bars, the fingers will not need to be stretched out as far. Therefore, when playing the C9 chord, using only the index and middle fingers over two bars makes it easy to learn and play. Use the left hand to hold the neck of the ukulele near the string spacer or “nut” by resting it between the left thumb and left index finger. Keep the left thumb behind the first bar, which is between the string spacer and the first fret. Hold the center of the ukulele body with the right arm.
