How Do You Play Burned PS2 Games?
Burned PS2 games (usually referred to as “backups”) will not play on regular PS2s. The most common ways of playing burned PS2 games is by using a mod chip or a swap disc. Mod chips must be manually inserted into your PS2 and requires some knowledge of soldering. Swap disc are cheaper, safer and more convenient. Using a swap disc (eg, Swap Magic), you will be able to play backups, imported PS2 games, and DVDs from any region. Turn the PS2 on its back. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the six screws used to hold the casing together. Take the case off. Find the small metal cap at the top right of the console. It will be directly to right of the word “reverse” on the motherboard. Place two or three pieces of duct tape over the cap. Make sure it is not visible at all. Place the cover (screws as well) back onto the PS2. Open the disc tray (where you insert games).
