How Do You Play A Game Of Backyard Home-Run Derby?
There’s three of you, a baseball bat, and a tennis ball. Not much of a ballgame, is it? But it can be. Grab the bat, the ball, and head into the backyard for a game of home run derby. Here’s how. Set an attainable home-run distance. Everyone likes to hit home runs, so make your goal only moderately difficult to achieve. You want it far enough so that you need to make solid contact, but not so close that a wind-blown pop up is a home run. Remember, though, you’re using a tennis ball. Take turns at every position. Every time somebody new bats, the pitcher and fielder should change. Fielding the ball is the worst part of backyard home run derby, so make sure one person isn’t always stuck with the same job. Make sure the outfielder is in play. Set your home-run mark so that a certain amount of the field is where the outfielder can stand and make plays on the fly balls hit.
