How Do You Play A D Major Scale?
“We have know learned the pattern of the scale let’s look at this pattern and apply it to the key of D major and learn the D major scale. At the staff the D major scale starts on D going up the pattern on a major scale whole step. The second note is E another whole step to the 3rd note of F sharp. Another half step to G. 5th note is A whole step. Another whole step to the 6th note B and another whole step to C which should have sharp sign indicated. In this pattern we have alterations the F sharp and the C sharp which is able to start on D and have these notes fit the whole and half step pattern. These 2 notes accidentals are changes from the norm. They have raised the pitch by a half step so that this distance can be a whole step so it fits the scale. In the key of D major we have F sharp and C sharp which is the key signature this makes G major what it is. Let’s look at the scale and listen as I play. This is D major.
