How Do You Plant Self-Watering Beds With A Trellis?
Self-watering garden beds are special planting containers that have a water reservoir under the soil. Water is poured into the reservoir through a fill tube that emerges above the soil. These systems help vegetables grow well, since they are less prone to drought from lack of watering, which is more likely to happen in a traditional garden bed. Install a 2-inch diameter, 6-foot-tall PVC pipe in either end of the self-watering bed. Push the pipes into the soil, positioning each one in the middle of the short sides of the bed. Push them down as far as they will go into the soil before they hit the reservoir screen. Place a 2-inch diameter PVC elbow on top of each PVC pipe. Cut a length of 2-inch pipe to fit between the two stakes and slide it into the elbows to make a top cross bar. Stretch nylon trell
