How Do You Plant Mint & Strawberries?
Strawberries and mint are both aromatic types of food that are used in a wide variety of cuisines. While these plants can be grown in your home garden, both require special attention, placement and care. Keep some basic guidelines in mind to achieve optimal results. Purchase strawberry plants from your local nursery or catalog. Select the appropriate site for your strawberry plants. They should be planted in a location that provides good soil drainage and gets full sunlight. Thoroughly till the soil in which you intend the plant the strawberries. The soil should be tilled to a depth of at least 12 inches. Be sure to remove all weeds, and add fertilizer as necessary—strawberries grow best in soil with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5. If your soil is not in this range, add the appropriate type and amount of fertilizer. Dig a hole for each strawberry plant. These holes should be spaced approximately five to seven inches apart, and should be wide enough to accommodate the root structures of the plant
