Lemon trees need full sun, so the south side of your yard would be best. Transfer the lemon seedling into a five-gallon container. Place acidic soil in the container. Lemon trees can tolerate most soils but the soil must be well-drained and moist for the tree to flourish. Place the seedling in a hole shallower than the length of the root ball.
