How Do You Plant & Care For Red Maple Trees?
Nothing ushers in fall better than a red maple tree, one of the most brilliant producers of color in an autumn landscape. This variety of maple tree can grow in virtually all parts of the country. For backyard gardeners, a red maple can be an impressive anchor to your lawn. The trees can grow up to 60 feet tall, providing soothing amounts of shade during summer’s heat. Full grown trees offer red buds in the winter, red blooms in the spring and stunning red foliage in the fall. Identify a partial shade, well-drained area with soil that has neutral to acidic pH level. Dig a hole that is four times the width of the root ball and approximately 3 feet deep. Take the tree out of its root packaging and place it in the hole. Ensure that top of root ball is even with the ground. Allow the roots to spread thoroughly within the hole. Spray water directly on the roots. Fill the hole with half of the displaced dirt, partially covering the tree’s roots. Water again before filling the hole completely
