The Brugmansia plant is commonly known as Angel’s Trumpet for its beautiful trumpet-shaped flowers that can be as much as a foot long. This plant is native to South and Central America and grows best in warm climates; however, it also grows well in containers and can be brought inside in colder climates. The extremely fragrant and beautiful flower can also be dangerous. The leaves, flowers and seeds are toxic and should not be kept in a home with small children and pets. Brugmansia is easy to grow and a source of pride for any gardener. Purchase your Brugmansia at a nursery. You can choose white, yellow, pink or salmon color. If you want your plant to bloom right away, choose one that is 4 to 5 feet tall and has a trunk about 1 inch in caliper.
