How Do You Plant A Standard Rose?
Shakespeare said it best when he said, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” Very few flowers can match the rose’s fragrance, variety or splendor. These gorgeous flowers come in colors ranging from luminous white to deep red and beyond and scents ranging from light to pervasive. Roses do well in a garden or container; the most important requirements are that your rose receive 6 hours of daily sun and that you follow some simple planting instructions. Find a sunny area in your yard or garden; standard roses need about 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight. Make sure to choose an area that will not overcrowd your roses (allow 12 to 18 inches between plants). Dig a hole approximately 18 inches deep and 24 inches wide to give the roots room to develop.
