As the name suggests, the Russian Olive is not native to the United States, though it is readily available in nurseries and garden centers throughout the U.S. An adaptable, fast growing, hardy tree, the Russian Olive has escalated in popularity in part because of its ability to thrive in conditions that would be detrimental to other plants, such as in arid climates or areas with nutrient poor soil.
