How Do You Plant A Crape Myrtle Tree?
Crape myrtle trees have beautiful flowers and come in white, lavender and several shades of pink. If strategically placed, they can add to the curb appeal of your property and complement any landscaping. Planting a crape myrtle tree usually only requires a short amount of your time. Once established, they are easy to maintain and are fairly drought resistant and pest-free. Find a sunny, airy area with good drainage in which to plant your crape myrtle. Plant the crape myrtle at least four weeks before your first frost so the tree can adjust to its new environment. Crape myrtles grow best in a soil with a pH level of 6.5, but can tolerate a soil range of 5.5 to 7.5. Dig a hole with your shovel that is as deep as height of the container the crape myrtle came in. The width of the hole should be twice the diameter of the container. Remove the crape myrtle from the container. Use your fingers to break up and loosen the roots to allow them to spread and grow quickly once planted in the ground
