How Do You Plan The Readings For A Funeral Service?

0

“Our topic is how to plan the appropriate reading for a funeral service. Many times the minister or whoever the individual is that’s going to speak at the funeral ceremony will go to the family and ask, “did this individual, did the deceased like certain poetry, certain books or did they have favorite scriptures that they might read out of the Bible”? A lot of times the minister will go to the deceased person’s personal Bible and he’ll begin to look through the Bible and find places where they have ear marked the page or where they have highlighted certain scriptures in the Bible that would mean something to them and those are the scriptures or the verses that they select for the appropriate reading during the funeral ceremony. If they have books of poetry or books of different tales or novels that they prefer, they’ll look through those and find and try to come up with the one that was the individual’s most favorite and use those in their ceremony or use those poems during the funeral
