As the UK’s first female fronted blues festival, Manchester’s Girls Got the Blues launched in May 2007 to celebrate and showcase female blues artists and bands. This one-day music festival takes place in the Walkabout on Manchester’s Quay Street and was inspired by the recent resurgence of girls rediscovering the musical heritage of the blues.
