You want your special day to be just that, special. But most of us aren’t made of money, and often our parents cannot help. After planning several weddings, including my own, on a budget, I have some tips to share to help make your day wonderful, without breaking the bank. First you need a plan. This includes a budget and list of the “must haves” for your wedding reception so that you can allocate your funds properly (for example, do you want a photographer and a videographer, where do you want to have the reception, do you want limo service, etc). Prioritize your list so that the most important “must haves” are at the top, and the things you’d like, but which are not necessary, are at the bottom. The list should include the venue, vendors (such as DJ, photographer), decorations, and attire.
