How Do You Plan A Treasure Hunt For Preschoolers?
Young children love puzzles, running from place to place, and surprises. Wrap all three into a treasure hunt, and you have a great activity for a group of preschoolers for a birthday party, family gathering, Sunday school or preschool class. Here’s how to plan an easy treasure hunt for pre-readers. Plan the route you want the children to take: where they will start, where they will end, which spaces they will go to, and in what order. Collect the “clues.” Each clue is an object that obviously belongs in only one of the spaces on your route. For example, a roll of toilet paper belongs in the bathroom, but not in the kitchen. A wire whisk belongs in the kitchen, but not in the bedroom. Put each “clue” in the space BEFORE the space where it belongs. For example, if you want them to go from the kitchen to the bathroom to the bedroom, put the toilet paper in the kitchen, and a bed pillow in the bathroom.
