How Do You Plan A School Renaissance Fair?
• Decide who will participate in the fair. A good idea would be to make this a project for one grade level, we’ll use 8th grade, and invite the other grades to enjoy it during the end of the school day (with permission from the administration). • Tell someone about your idea. If you are a student, you’ll want to suggest this to one, or more, of your teachers. You should suggest it during the beginning of the year, so there is less chance of a run in with other plans the teachers will make. If you are a teacher, suggest this to other teachers in the same grade level. • Decide what you want to have. Choose which medieval style “centers” you want to have. These should pertain to the idea of castles, knights, etc. You can also throw in some fun areas, such as having a teacher in the stocks, and throwing pies at their faces. some ideas are: • • A joust • A maze • A catapult contest • Stocks • Human chess game • Make groups. Once you decide what will be in the Fair, make groups of students i
