How Do You Picnic At Cades Cove In Smoky Mountain National Park?

0

Great Smoky Mountain National Park is the most visited national park in the United States and Cades Cove, Tennessee is one of its most popular destinations. Cades Cove is a beautiful 6800-acre valley full of wildlife and surrounded by the Great Smokies (mountains). As you tour the area, you’ll find yourself following much of the same trail that settlers once used. There are historic buildings to view (and some to enter), such as settler’s homes, churches, sheds and a flour mill, all situated along a loop road that winds throughout Cades Cove. A visitor’s center is located about halfway along the road. Several hiking trails are also located in the area. Cook a hot meal at the Cades Cove picnic area which includes grills and fire rings as well as tables and restroom facilities. Some of the picnic sites can be accessed by wheelchairs. This picnic area is by the beginning of the one-way loop road. The picnic area closes at dusk except for the spring/summer season when it’s open until 8:00
