these images were shopped… simple as that… i suspect its shot in bright daylight and teh brightness and contrast were adjusted… them gloomy unlit hanger walls will just go black as the detail appears in the blown out hightlights… i also shot a DC10 many years ago, when i’d finished you could count every rivet on the fuselage… and see every ripple in the airframe… in a studio you just make sure no light reaches teh backdrop… easiest way is to stand your subject in free space.. at least 10 or 20 feet away from teh wall… your flash lights them, not the wall behind…
