How Do You Personalize A Funeral Service?
Organizing a funeral service is one of the most difficult tasks you can face. It’s important to try and make the service unique to the loved one you have lost by focusing on the person’s life and memories shared by those left behind. Start with a list of fond memories of the person that you have lost. Write down his or her favorite things, such as hobbies, music and books. Look through the list and choose a few things that remind you fondly of your lost loved one. Choose music that will remind others of the person who has passed away. Choose a poem, essay or book excerpt that the deceased was fond of or that evokes his or her personality or life. Choose a couple of people to speak at the funeral and give eulogies. Give the people you select some time to write out their eulogies and put some thought into it. Talk to the funeral director about other ways you can personalize the service.
