How Do You Perform The Four Ace Extravaganza?
An easier type of trick more for stage performances than street magic, the Four Ace Extravaganza has the magician taking the spectator through a series of simple mental calculations and the spectator is able to find all four aces from a seemingly shuffled deck. Here is how it’s done. Remove the four aces from the deck and the cards 2-9 of any suit. Place these 11 cards atop the deck, with the 2 being the top card. Starting with the top card, the deck should be 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,A,A,A, then the rest of the cards. Explain the premise to the audience, that you think they can find all four aces without realizing it. Shuffle the deck in front of them, being careful to keep those top 11 cards in perfect order. Ask a spectator to pick a number between 10 and 20, but not 20 itself. Whatever the number is–we’ll say 16–deal that many cards face down. Have him add the digits of his chosen number, 1+6=7, and place that many cards from the previously dealt pile back into the deck. Remove the next
