The Switchblade is a Freestyle Motocross (FMX) trick that is generally credited to Mike Metzger, who began rotating his legs backwards during no footed can-cans in the late 1990s. It is so named because the legs resemble a switchblade knife as they open up. The following steps will show how to do the FMX Switchblade trick. Practice the individual elements of the Switchblade before putting them together. It is more technically described as a topside no-footed Can-Can. The hands stay on the handle bars at all times. Perform a Can-Can. This is a basic FMX trick that requires the rider to remove one foot from the peg and bring it over the seat so that it is in front the other foot. Make a no-footed Can-Can. Take the foot that is still resting on its peg off so that both feet are in the air but on both sides of the bike. Add the topside element to a no-footed Can-Can. Rotate both legs backwards so that the toes are pointing toward the rear of the bike. Reverse these steps so that you are ba
