The barrel roll is a move that can spice up your swing, even if you’re still a beginner. As long as you’re comfortable with the swing basic and with the timing of a turn, a couple hours of practice should have you performing this move on the dance floor like you’ve been doing it for years. Stand facing your partner, holding both hands. As the leader, lift your right hand, bringing her right hand up as well. Step to your partner’s left with your left foot. As you do this, raise your right hand over your head, still holding onto your follower’s left hand. Keep your left hand low, holding her right hand. Connect to your partner at your left shoulder, and the follower’s right shoulder. Move underneath your raised arms.
