Before the Meade 12 Inch LX90 GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope can automatically find objects in the night sky for you, it must be aligned. Easy Align is the most efficient way of locating objects using the telescope’s Autostar “Go To” capabilities. Here’s how to perform a two-star alignment. Perform the initialization procedure with Autostar. Press “Enter” when you see Setup Align on the display. Press “Enter” when you see Align Easy on the display. Your telescope will automatically set True North, North, Level and Home, and then slew to the brightest star in the sky. Use the arrow keys to center the star in the eyepiece if needed, and press “Enter.” Perform this procedure again for the second star. Alignment Successful will now be displayed.
