How Do You Perform A Skip Up Swing Dance Move?
A Skip Up swing dance move is a basic Lindy Hop move that people may refer to as a Jig Walk, Walking the Dame or many other names, depending on the location and style. Skip Ups are generally designed for dancers to perform over 6 beats of the music, though they can be repeated to stretch out over 12 or more beats. A relatively simple move, it has become one of the signature dance steps in many popular swing variations. Hold your partner’s arms or hands to help balance. Balance each other carefully by shifting your weight down and outward to pull and support one another. This is much like the position you take when preparing to sit down in a chair, though not as pronounced. Step back with your right foot to perform the first part of a rock step. This should be done on beat one. Though the lead usually begins on the right foot, this particular swing dance move can easily be started on the left foot as well. Step back with your left foot to close the rock step on the second beat. Kick wit
