Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are asked to pay tenth percent of their income as part of tithing. Each and every person must choose for themselves whether they follow this. Tithing from members does not go to Bishops or other church leaders as payment, but instead is used to fund missionary programs, church materials, education and the contruction of church buildings such as chapels and temples, to name a few. Here’s how you can become a full-tithe payer. Decide based on your income each month or week how much you need to pay (whether it will be ten percent of your gross or net income is up to you). Fill out a tithing slip, which can be obtained from your bishop or they are usually located in the lobby at your local chapel.
